KELVIN / SPEEDY PEONES 10"
THE CLASH. One side against the other is displayed in this 10" EP. Kelvin's terrific noise-punk-hardcore collides with Speedy Peones' pop evolution of absolute. Very different frequency ranges merge across the two sides of this issue. An unlikely match in an unlikely period. THE SIDES. Il Side A sees Kelvin nervously bashing instruments as a means to drive dissent against quiet living. They celebrate the Melvins with "If I had an exorcism" and finally a Men's recovery Project cover played with their B-side counterpart. Side B specially features Speedy Peones giving a ROLAND TR-626 the beat line of their songs. These pieces are a particular pattern of their evolution, all arranged with their devolutionary skill out of psycho-pop-sprinkled garage-punk. TECHNICALITIES. This 10" EP spins like a 45 RPM, entirely recorded and mixed analogically in order to offer the best sound effect on vinyl and render it at really high volumes. Kelvin's songs have been recorded by Giulio Ragno Favero at Blocco "A" except "My body is a jerk" recorded and mixed by Woolter at the Toolsheed. Speedy Peones pieces have been recorded by Woolter at the Toolsheed and mixed by Icio at Hate studio where the 10" EP itself has been mastered. THE SERIES. The 10" EP comprises two series: one of 200 copies in blue transparent vinyl called "blu series", another of 300 copies (266 blue vinyl and 44 black vinyl) called "aluminium series", where the sleeve is screen printed by Serimal on a 1 mm thick aluminium plate. For this limited hand-punched series, 73 kilos of aluminium have been used. Each number is unique as its owner.
